Davide Graf

After completing an Advanced Diploma of Fine Art in Photography at The European Institute Of Design in Milan in 1986, Davide headed to Nepal to the breathtaking Himalayas. It was on this first trip to Asia that he discovered a sense of freedom and a taste for adventure and travelling that still profoundly influences his life and philosophy.

In India and other developing nations he found that he related strongly to the warmth and curiosity of the people, their unhurried pace of life, and a deeper sense of meaning beyond the material. Over many years Davide has maintained a special interest in tribal and nomadic peoples and has preserved on film a way of life fast disappearing.

Davide's photographs capture a mood, an expression, a strength of character, a particular light at a particular place and time. Davide's love of humanity, nature and travelling combined with his eye for detail and beauty makes his work unique.
His gift for crossing barriers of language and culture and ability to make people feel immediately at ease allows him to create an intimacy with his subjects that is rare.

The collection of images in the Gallery was shot over a period of over twenty years on numerous journeys to Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
